Are you truly OBJECTIVE? Do you acknowledge the significant difference between ‘subjective’ and ‘objective’? If you NEVER were previously influenced by the teachings of another (parents, religious elders, etc.), would you be confused by the claims of God recorded in the Bible? Should proper interpretation of scripture rely on ‘subjective’ or ‘objective’ contemplation?
Things that are subjective are open to interpretation based primarily on personal feelings, emotions, and /or aesthetics. Conversely, as far as possible or practicable, objectivity strives to reduce or eliminate bias, prejudice, unsubstantiated preconception or subjective evaluations by relying solely on verifiable data.
Centuries before Christ, God introduced Himself & claimed to be the ONE & ONLY God & SAVIOR.
“Yet I am the Lord your God from the land of Egypt, you shall know no God but me: for there is no SAVIOR beside me” –Hosea 13:4.
“Bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who has declared this from ancient time? who has told it from that time? have not I the Lord? & there is no God else beside me; a just God & a SAVIOR; there is NONE beside me” – Isa. 45:21.
“You shall know that I the Lord am your SAVIOR & Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob” – Isa. 60:16.
“I, even I, am the Lord; & beside Me there is no SAVIOR” –Isa. 43:11.
In New Testament passages, God introduces Jesus Christ as both LORD & SAVIOR.
“My spirit has rejoiced in God my SAVIOR” – Lk.1:47.
“Unto you is born this day in the city of David a SAVIOR, Christ the Lord” – Lk. 2:11.
“Wherefore He is able also to save them to the UTTERMOST that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever lives to make intercession for them “ – Heb.7:25.
Scripture adamantly declares that there is ONLY ONE GOD & SAVIOR, & His completed work of salvation has saves them that BELIEVE on Him to the UTTERMOST! Who is your GOD & SAVIOR, & how “saved” has He saved you?
Approaching a righteous answer to these important questions must be somewhat subjective in an initial investigation, but ultimately must produce a perpetual conviction based solely upon the results of a truly objective search for truth.
